Moong Dal

Moong, also know as mung bean, green gram, mash, or mash is a typical ingredient for savory and sweet Asian dishes. It is packed not just with flavors, but with proteins and nutrients too. It is a good alternative for meat, and is easily digestible.


4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, diced
1 tomato, quartered
1 inch ginger, ground and minced
1 tbsp cumin
1 cup mung beans
3 cups chicken stock
1 tbsp garam masala
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped cilantro


  1. Set Ninja Foodi to SAUTE and allow to heat up. 
  2. Add ghee and saute garlic, onion, tomato, ginger and cumin in that order.
  3. Add mung beans and stir fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Pour chicken stock and add masala, coriander, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and salt.
  5. Secure pressure lid, select PRESSURE and set to HIGH, then set time to 20 minutes, finally press START/STOP.
  6. Do Natural Pressure Release until all pressure is released.
  7. Unlock lid, stir in cilantro and lemon juice.
    Serve and enjoy!
