Chicken Biryani

Chicken Biryani is a popular mixed rice dish in the Indian Subcontinent. It is usually made with Indian Spices, rice and meat. In this recipe, we will be using boneless chicken thighs, cilantro, garam masala, onions, garlic, and ginger.  The rice tastes amazing as it absorbed the flavors of the chicken.


2 lbs Chicken thighs, boneless
2 tbsp ghee
2 yellow onions, sliced
2 tbsp ginger, minced and crushed
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp Garam Masala
1 red chili pepper, chopped finely
2 tbsp cilantro, minced
2 tbsp fresh mint, minced
1 cup uncooked Basmati rice, washed and drained
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup chicken broth
salt to taste
Coriander leaves
Lemon wedges
Onion rings


  1. Set Ninja Foodi to SAUTE and heat for 3 minutes.
  2. Add ghee and saute onions for 5 minutes.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, and chili pepper and saute for 3 minutes.
  4. Add chicken and stir fry. While stir frying chicken, add salt and masala.
  5. Pat the chicken until it is evened out on the bottom of the pot.
  6. Pour the cilantro and mint into an even layer.
  7. Top with rice and carefully pour the chicken broth so as not to distrub the layers.
  8. Sprinkle with turmeric powder
  9. Secure Pressure Cooking Lid and make sure the vent is on SEAL.
  10. Set to PRESSURE COOK for 10 minutes.
  11. Once cycle is done, quick release the pressure and open the lid once all pressure has been released. 
  12. Mix the rice and chicken. Fluff the rice while mixing.
  13. Garnish with coriander leaves, lemon wedges and onion rings
  14. Serve and enjoy while hot.
