Broiled Steak and Peppers

A great tasting dinner that seems to be sinful to your diet. Yes, it seems sinful, but in reality, its perfect for Weight Watchers. Can you cook steak in an Instant Pot? Yes, you can and with the right sauce, its gonna be a treat to your palate. Broiled Steak and Peppers is easy to prepare, very delish, and and works well within your Weight Watchers diet plan.


12 oz uncooked lean flank steak
2 yellow peppers, seeded and quartered
2 green bell peppers, seeded and quartered
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 cup fat free salsa
2 tbsp reduced-fat sour cream
1 tbsp red pepper flakes


  1. Pat dry salt with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a steamer basket, spread flank steak evenly and put bell peppers on top.
  3. Drizzle steak and peppers with olive oil.
  4. Pour water in inner pot and put steamer basket inside.
  5. Secure lid and set to sealing.
  6. Set Instant Pot to HIGH pressure for 15 minutes. 
  7. While steak and peppers are cooking, combine oregano, salsa, pepper flakes and sour cream in a blender and process until smooth.
  8. Once timer is up, do a Quick Release of pressure by pressing down the Steam Release Button until it locks into place.
  9. Once all pressure and steam is released, Remove steamer basket.
  10. Transfer steak and peppers in a serving dish. Lather steak with sauce.
